Plan on Spending an Extra day or two!

San Diego is a dynamic and interesting city. Discovered in 1542 by Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo, it's a city rich in Spanish, Mexican and American history. From historic Old Town to modern day attractions like the Reuben H. Fleet Space Theater and the Science Center , San Diego offers something for every-one.

You are just a short drive from both Sea World and the San Diego Zoo, as well as Cabrillo National Monument and the Wild Animal Park.

San Diego is a great place to indulge your palette. For an experience to remember, visit the Gaslamp Quarter with over eighty restaurants or possibly try some authentic Mexican food in Old Town.

Just thirty minutes away you can spend the day exploring the quaint and enchanting village of La Jolla, with its many upscale shops and breathtaking coast line, or head to Coronado Island to visit the Hotel Del Coronado, full of celebrity history and a marvel in 19th century craftsmanship. The beautiful adjoining beach is a great place to put your feet in the sand as you enjoy the view. Be sure to bring your camera and lots of film.

If it’s golfing you like, San Diego is arguably one of the world’s greatest golf destinations. More than 65 courses are available in the surrounding area. With an average winter temperature of 65 degrees and a mild, dry summer, the weather is generally agreeable for a great round of golf. Since San Diego is a desert climate, we recommend a jacket for cool evenings.

Click here to visit the San Diego Convention & Visitors Bureau for more information on San Diego's wonderful sites and attractions.
